The Fairmount Village Board met in open session this 17th day of August, 2016 in the council chambers of the village hall. President David Ferber called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. meeting ended at 8:35 P.M. Guests present were: Gary Wright, Jared Fritz and Charles Dolan.

Public comments: Jared Fritz and Charles Dolan were present to confirm if at some point the village can do a quarterly check at the hydrant at the school. There has been lead found in a water fountain at the south school campus and the IEPA was involved with testing as was the village of Fairmount. There was a discussion about the school needing to do regularly testing on the water once it enters into the school. The men also informed the board that there was state bill 550 consumer water supply that would affect our community. Dave Ferber thanked them for the information and told them it was a possibility to test the water up to the hydrant out at the south campus school.

Review department reports:
Fire Dept: Dave conducted an inspection at Puzey building where Jamaica Pyrotechnic is at, they had shot off fireworks illegally in town and was told they are not to test fireworks in town.
Streets: Lisa is researching about the ownership of Main street south of town, out to Oak Street. State and county says we own, Dave says we do not. In 1976 the brick street was replaced with cement by the state and then the village took ownership,
