The Fairmount Village Board met in open session this 16th day of May, 2018, in the council chambers of the village hall. President David Ferber called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Meeting ended at 8:10 p.m. Visitors: Gary Wright, Brooke and Tammy Dixon, Jacqueline Lacy State Attorney.

Public comments: Public comments: State Attorney Jacqueline Lacy was present to update the board on the past 15 months since taking office. She reported that they have begun a new program of having a Grand Jury that serves for three months and they have had more indictments since then. Her office has also received a $90,000 grant to add two more victim advocates in her office. She encouraged anyone that has any questions to call or come into the office. Lacy also passed out brochures on her office’s Victim Assistance Program and A Handbook for Illinois Jurors Grand Jury.
Tammy Dixon reported that she was able to use a physical address for the lots she purchased uptown and she received the tax bills for those lots.
Steven Ellis Jr. had dropped a letter off stating that he would like some of the sidewalks along his home repaired. He included pictures to show the condition they are in. The board will need to approve sidewalk work at the next meeting.

Any discussion on 2018-2019 Budget: Looked at what was proposed in April meeting, and what revised tentative Budget of new line items.

Board Comments: Kathy Myers wants Chief Wright to start writing ordinances for people not mowing their lawns and ordinance violators for junk being around.
Susie Dodd-Casey stated there has been fighting among kids at the park on Main Street by the railroad tracks. Maintenance workers have found broken glass near the pavilion, trash all over and kids are being seen playing on or near the tracks and trying to tear up the porta potty. Chief Wright has the authority to ban anyone from the park and will do so if necessary.
Emily Carey has been in touch with Vern Brown who is working on a quote on street signs for the village, she will have it for June meeting.
Ed Cheuvront said that there a few dead trees that need to be taken down, a list will be approved at the next meeting.
Project review
Water System pressure control- The board is very disappointed that Tom Baird of Catlin hadn’t gotten back with them yet on giving them a quote for the water system project. They were told in April that they would have a quote by the May meeting. President Ferber said he hadn’t heard from Baird but would reach out to him to see what the delay was.
