The Fairmount Village Board met in open session this 15th day of August 2018, in the council chambers of the village hall. President David Ferber called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Meeting ended at 8:45 p.m. Visitors: Gary Wright and Jeremy Barker

Approved minutes of July 18, 2018 regular meeting with amendment of making the correction that the grant for the radios were from the Fire Marshall in the amount of $14,640. Ed made motion and Dan 2nd.

Public comments: Jeremy Barker asked when the fall rummage sales would be, Dave said he’d have to ask Karen, the board doesn’t do anything with that. Also he asked about the discussion last month meeting regarding grass clippings in the streets. He presented a copy of the state law that says it is littering. He asked if Chief Wright can remind people not to mow out grass in the streets. Dave said he would review that ordinance with Gary.

Approved purchase of police car: Five bids were read two were not considered because of one being a 2016 Impala car and one being a Tahoe that was too expensive. Two Ford Explorers were considered from Mark McLarty Ford of Arkansas and shipped from Tennessee after outfitted. $42,167 and $39,364.
